Ruto’s cabinet secretaries have no interest of Kenyans, says Donald Kipkorir

Lawyer Donald Kipkorir has claimed that cabinet secretaries in President William Ruto’s Cabinet have no interest of Kenyans.

In a statement posted on his X account on January 17, Kipkorir noted that President Ruto should reshuffle his Cabinet for better service delivery to Kenyans.

“A transformative President needs Cabinet Ministers who love the Country more than their pockets! Most of the current Cabinet Ministers are focused on making money for self and not for country,” Kipkorir noted.

“President William Ruto needs to undertake Cabinet Reshuffle to reset his Government’s strategy, tone, tenor and engagement both with Kenyans & our foreign friends & adversaries,” he added.

The Lawyer explained that most successful governments in history were because of strong leadership coupled with a first class cabinet that served the people without undermining the President’s overall vision.

While responding to Donald Kipkorir on X, former Isiolo deputy governor Dr. Abdi Issa noted that a transformative President requires a transformative Cabinet to effectively implement his vision.

“The time has come for individuals who possess the necessary skills, expertise, and commitment to drive positive change.

“The tenure of the cabinet members must align with the transformative goals of the President,” Dr. Abdi noted in his reply.

The calls for the president to reshuffle his cabinet emerges at a time when politicians have intensified campaigns for the 2027 general elections.

For instance, a section of leaders from Mt Kenya region had suggested that Kiharu member of parliament (MP) Ndindi Nyoro would be a better running mate for President William Ruto in the 2027 presidential elections.

Suggestions to have Nyoro as the Mt Kenya kingpin had sparked mixed reactions from politicians in the region and across the country, as some maintain that deputy president Rigathi Gachagua is best suited for the position.

Nominated MP Sabina Chege is one of the leaders who maintained that Gachagua is the kingpin from the Mount Kenya region.

However, in a separate incident on January 15, Gachagua warned a section of UDA leaders fronting Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro as his replacement.

According to the deputy president, who was speaking during a funeral in Bomet, it was wrong for leaders from Mt Kenya region to engage in succession politics at this time.

“The people do not want to hear about elections. They do not want to hear who will be elected where; they want service delivery; they want electricity, water and other forms of development,” Gachagua warned.
