Telecommunication giant Safaricom has issued a customer notice to explain why Android user have recently not been receiving Safaricom and M-Pesa messages on their phones and provided steps to rectify the issue.
According to the telco, the users widely affected by the glitch are those on with Android devices using third-party SMS applications.
The teleco has advised its subscribers to do the following steps:
“To resolve the issue we ask our customers to follow the below steps
1.Open your Sms and check the Spam and Blocked folder
2.Find a Safaricom and M-pesa message and Unblock it
3.All subsequent Messages will go to the main inbox
“Additionally customers Using Android Smartphone can select the default Sms app as it does not have a spam folder”
