Sakaja: Peace concert to continue at Nairobi’s Uhuru Park

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has confirmed that a peace concert in honor of the fallen protesters during the anti-finance bill protests will go ahead as planned at Uhuru Park.

Despite the park being an active crime scene due to recent vandalism, including the destruction of a mobile studio dedicated to recording artists and children from subcounties, Sakaja stated that the concert would proceed if investigations are completed.

He emphasized that Uhuru Park is a public space and expressed his commitment to attend the event.

The Governor also announced that fees for the injured and deceased across county hospitals and mortuaries have been waived as a gesture of acknowledging the right to expression.
