Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya has revealed that he wants a wife who will remain in the village.
Salasya was speaking during an interview on TV47’s entertainment show Wabebe Experience hosted by Willis Raburu every Friday at 10pm.
“Shida ambayo niko nayo sahii nataka msichana mwenye atakaa nyumbani kwa village, lakini hawataki. Wanataka penye niko huku Nairobi.”
(The problem is that I want a lady who will agree to remain in the village, but they don’t want that. They want to accompany me wherever I go whether it’s Nairobi or anywhere else),” the first time MP said, chuckling.
Salasya: I love my freestyle life
In a rejoinder, the bachelor admitted that he would not have made it to Parliament if he had a family back then.
“Hiyo time ningekuwa na wife singemove because unakuja kwa hao anakwambia umetoa shilingi 300 kwa mchango na kwa nyumba hakuna unga, hakuna mafuta. Si tutaanza kupigana. Nikaamua kukaa freestyle.”
(If I had a wife at the time I would not have achieved these milestones, because every time I come home my wife would question why I gave out KSh300 at a fundraiser yet there is no food in the house. It would be chaos all the time. So I chose to live a freestyle life),” Salasya explained.
‘Mzungu’ Wife
The lawmaker is however hopeful that he will one day get a good wife and make a family.
“Hii mambo naskianga ati mtu hajuangi. (I hear one never knows how these things happen so I am still waiting to see),” he added
Salasya’s revelation comes days after he declared he was looking to marry a White woman.
Willis Raburu pressed Salasya to elaborate why he would prefer a White lady to the Kenyan women thirsting for him.
“I was just playing with the minds of Kenyans to see their reactions. It was a while before posting on social media so I decided my post would be controversial to attract a lot of attention.
“My work was just to read comments and laughing even at the insults. You know you have to have a strong heart,” he elaborated.
