Sarah Wairimu Cohen was charged with the murder of her husband, Tob Cohen, on Wednesday January 29, 2025. The incident occurred in 2019 at Lower Kabete.
She appeared before Kibera High Court Judge Diana Kavedza, where she denied the charge.
The court delayed the plea to allow the prosecution to present a 2019 mental assessment report from Mathare Referral Hospital, confirming she is fit to stand trial.
After the report was provided, the plea was taken.
Meanwhile, the prosecution opposed the idea of releasing her on bail and requested more time to file an affidavit.
At the same time, the judge directed the State to file it within 24 hours, with the defense responding in 12 hours, as each side has 20 minutes to present their bail arguments.
The bail hearing is set to take place on Monday February 3, 2025 at 11 am.
