Anastacia Sammy, a 15-year-old girl from Sombe Mwitika in Kitui East, risks not joining form one yet again even after repeating Class 8.

Due to the acute pangs of poverty in her home, Anastacia sat for her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exam in 2022, scoring 368 marks.

This year, she topped her class in Imbuu Primary School with 382 marks.

However, there’s still no money to take her to school.

She received a calling letter to join Muthale Girls in Kitui West, but just like her previous situation, joining high school ight be a tall order, with her parents unable to educate her.

The fourth born in a family of ten who aspires to be a lawyer has lost almost all hope as she stares at her dreams being shuttered.

The school BOM chair, Thomas Mboya, said the management was taking care of her primary school fees and needs, thus calling for help from Good Samaritans to help the bright pupil join form one.
