Search for Olobor – famous Lion in the Mara allegedly killed by pastoralists continues

The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) is searching for Olobor, a famous lion in the Maasai Mara that was allegedly killed by pastoralists.

A press release posted on KWS’s official X account, states that the Intelligence and Investigation teams responded by visiting the area but neither evidence nor information was gathered to prove the allegation.

“KWS tasked the top management of the reserve together with ‘Mara Predators’- a research team whose work is monitoring lions to look for Olobor” The press release stated.

KWS has promised to provide an accurate account of Olobor when the facts are established and proven.

Kenyans have expressed their concerns and disappointments in the comments section saying that KWS has failed terribly in their job which is to protect the wildlife.

“I will not go back to the Mara and I’ll tell my friends not to go as well until you are serious about doing your job, which is to protect the wildlife. Enough with the excuses.” User dg53 commented.
