Police in Kira, Central Uganda, are investigating an incident where a private security guard on Wednesday, April 10 night shot dead a 36-year-old driver.

It is reported that at around 7:30 pm, Adaca Sabina aka Alele Francis, a driver with Khan Logistics and a resident of Kyebando Kisalosalo, was intercepted by the guard only identified as Achol.

“Adaca Sabina was shot around the chest/heart while on the phone, attempting to exit a corridor. The assailant fled the scene with the weapon, leaving Adaca in a pool of blood,” Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire says.

Police say that Adaca was involved in extramarital affairs with the wife of the security guard, which may have contributed to the unfortunate incident.

“However, it is imperative to allow the ongoing investigation by the authorities to uncover all relevant facts and motives surrounding this heinous crime,” Owoyesigyire added.

Police have since visited the scene of crime and a thorough documentation and collection of evidence conducted.

The body of the deceased was transferred to KCCA mortuary for a postmortem even as the hunt for the shooter continues.

“We assure the public that every effort is being made to apprehend the suspect and recover the weapon used in this senseless act of violence.”
