Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has weighed in on the ongoing controversy between digital creator Pritty Vishy and Bishop Muthee Kiengei.
The issue began when Bishop Kiengei made remarks about Vishy that many perceived as body shaming.
Despite issuing an apology, Vishy rejected it, demanding a public apology in the same manner the offensive comments were made.
“Your apology is not accepted, the same way the body shaming and the abuse was loud make your apology louder.
“If you were not wrong, why pull the video down? you apologized because I spoke right?
The apology is not accepted, so let the aluta continue,” Vishy said.
Nyamu, known for her outspoken nature, defended the bishop, referring to his comments as “lighter statements.”
She acknowledged that Kiengei, who also works as a comedian, may have crossed the line, but emphasized that his intention was likely to push Vishy to improve herself rather than solely criticize her.
Nyamu also recounted a personal experience where Vishy had previously insulted her, despite Nyamu having a soft spot for her.
This, she said, made her feel somewhat disappointed.
“Hahaha unajua kwanini nacheka, me huambiwa vitu mingi hapa social media since I got to the limelight in 2017.
All kind of things. Mostly I notice when it’s facts and I improve myself.
Like when I commented on finance bill 2024 before I had bothered to familiarize myself with it.
“I made sure to take my time to thoroughly read up on its provisions karibu nikue consultant It has come to my attention this morning via a comment on my FB, asking me to stand with a girl child in the spat by Pritty Vishy and bishop Kiengei, hehe so sometime back, I see notifications on Instagram that Pritty Vishy has mentioned me.
“I was curious because I actually like her. Wueh, kalikua kamenitusi kweli kweli kwa video posted by a blogger.
Na nikaskia kidogo disappointed that the love wasn’t mutual.
Today she’s crying because of lighter statements made about her.
Yes I said lighter. I know Bishop is a comedian and he also shoots straight and can go overboard.
But get his point. He wants Vishy to actually pick a hustle or something to be known about n not just her association with Simple Boy.
If she can get that fact she can improve herself as for the way he said it I see he has apologised. No need to go into it.
On the other hand vishy will never apologise to me lol, though me ata sinanga noma drops mic.” Nyamu shared on her Facebook page.
Nyamu’s remarks sparked mixed reactions online, with some praising her for her candidness, while others criticized her for not showing empathy towards Vishy, who has been visibly affected by the bishop’s comments.
