Former Senegal and Liverpool forward El Hadji Diouf made French President Emmanuel Macron commit a foul during a charity match played in France. Macron sent Diouf to the ground after a cheeky nutmeg (Chobo) from the 43-year-old.
In a video posted on social media, Diouf is seen getting fouled by the French President after putting the ball through his legs in a friendly form.
The match brought together many football legends including former Arsenal Coach Arsene Wenger, Wilfred Mbappe Kylian Mbappe’s father, Eden Hazard, World Cup winner Marcel Desailly, France coach Didier Deschamps former Chelsea forward Didier Drogba, and Cameroonian Samuel Eto’o and others.
The event was a success with the former players contributing to the wellbeing of the less privileged in society. A total of 57,500 Euros ( Ksh8,324,931.94 ) was raised toward the charity to help children suffering from illnesses.
“Two teams but the same goal: to improve the daily lives of hospitalized children and adolescents. Thanks to the players of Varieties CF who mobilize for the benefit of Pieces Jaunes. The match continues!” wrote President Emmanuel Macron on X, formerly Twitter, after the game.
