Spain national football team and Inter Miami Midfielder Sergio Busquests has called on fans of the club to more understanding about the welfare of the players.
The Spaniard was responding to fans who were complaining about not seeing the teams star player Lionel Messi despite having bought tickets to see the Argentine World Cup Winner.
Since Messi landed in Miami the club has enjoyed the massive ticket sales due to the seven time Ballon D’or winners decision to snub the lucrative Saudi Pro League deal.
Messi has missed three out of Inter Miami’s past four matches due to a combination of injury and international commitments.
In the one match he played, resulting in a victory over Toronto FC, he had to exit early due to his injury, making his appearance brief.

Busquets sympathy
Busquets has however sympathized with the fans who attended the matches to see Messi who was a no show.
He asked them to remember that players and not robots.
“We understand people and we are very excited that they come,” he said,
“but we are not machines or robots. We would like to play every minute, but in the end we look at the long-term good of the team. It’s a shame for everyone, not just the fans.”
Messi was rested so as to be ready for Inter Miami’s upcoming US Open Cup final against Houston dynamos, nonetheless it seems he might also sit this one out as Messi has not been in training for the match.
Busquets state that Inter Miami would be much better if Messi appears for the Match slated for Wednesday.
