A family in Narok County has been thrown into mourning after a 17-year-old girl stabbed her 16-year-old female cousin on Saturday, December 21.
Reports indicate that a feud between the two cousins at Fanaka Estate in Narok Central quickly turned into a heated argument that culminated into one of them picking a knife and stabbing the other.
Neighbours who saw the heated exchange rushed to the scene to try and stop the fight but they were too late.
“Neighbours who did not expect the sudden turn of events rushed to stop the fight, but were too late to save the life of the victim who was pronounced dead on arrival at Narok County Referral Hospital,” a report filed at Narok Police Station says.
The girl implicated in the unfortunate killing was arrested and placed in custody pending arraignment on Monday, December 23, even as police probe the cause of the fight preceding the death.
