This prestigious honour was conferred during celebrations marking Kenya’s 60 years of diplomacy, highlighting the country’s enduring international relationships and cultural influence.

Known for their resilience and determination, the team recently made headlines by reclaiming their HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series status in under 500 days, following a brief relegation. At the Dubai 7s, the opening leg of the 2024/2025 HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, Shujaa delivered a spirited performance, finishing 10th overall. They now turn their focus to the Cape Town 7s, where they are grouped in Pool B and are set to face Spain and Australia.

The award was received by Thomas Odundo, CEO of the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU), on behalf of the team. During the ceremony, Odundo expressed his gratitude, saying:
