Police in Bondo, Siaya County, are investigating an incident where a 21-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her husband over suspected infidelity.
Stella Adongo, was reportedly beaten to death by her husband at their Uhanya beach home.
Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo confirmed the incident happened on Thursday night around 7.30pm.
“Preliminary investigations established that the man, who is a fisherman, had wrangles with his late wife, whom he accused of having an affair with a man from Usenge,” said Kimaiyo.
Police officers visited their home and found the body of Stella lying lifeless in the house.
”The body was found last night. This is after she was allegedly beaten to death by her husband Ben Ogweno over suspected infidelity,” Kimaiyo said.

”The woman’s body had multiple injuries on the head, face, right thigh and the abdomen, an indication that the suspect had assaulted her using crude weapons, leading to her death.”
Police are in pursuit of the man who has since been on the run.
The body is at Bondo Sub-County Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a postmortem examination as investigations into the incident continue.

Cases of murder between married people have been on the rise in the last few months.
West Pokot Incident
On December 23rd, the police arrested a woman who allegedly stabbed her husband to death following a domestic brawl in Makutano, West Pokot County.
The husband, Benjamin Tuko, was a caretaker of a house in the Jua Kali area of Makutano where the incident happened.
