A  28-year-old woman stabbed her boyfriend to death over an alleged love affair with another lady, then surrendered to Siaya police station. 

Police reported that the woman is being held at Siaya police station where she presented herself after stabbing her boyfriend to death in Mur-Ngiya sub-location, Siaya County on Saturday December 7, 2024 at night.

Vivian Akoth is said to have attacked and stabbed her 35-year-old boyfriend Charlton Obare over cheating allegations.

According to Mur-Ng’iya sub-location assistant chief Grace Otieno, the deceased arrived home at around 9.00 pm on Saturday together with his friend Reagan, then Vivian followed him to the house.

Reagan told the police that while leaving the two lovers in the house, he heard a commotion and Vivian immediately ran past him in the dark while being chased by Charlton who had already been stabbed in the chest.

He added that Charlton was overwhelmed by the stab wound and fell down while bleeding profusely. 

After realizing that Charlton had fallen, Vivian called Reagan to help in rushing him to the nearest hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

At the same time, the assistant chief explained that police visited the scene and took the body to Siaya County Referral Hospital mortuary.

Vivian, who is a mother of one, escaped immediately after the incident but surrendered herself to Siaya police station later.

She is being held at the police station as police launch investigations into the unfortunate incident, before arraigning her in court.

Meanwhile, the assistant chief advised couples and youth to find amicable ways of solving disputes instead of resorting to violence.
