Kelechi Africana a Kenyan artist from the captivating Coast region. His journey started off as a dedicated primary school teacher before following his passion in music.
Initially, he was previously in a group called “Wasojali Band” the creators of the sensational hit song “Nitalia Nawe”. This propelled the group to greater heights and was a huge success.
Later on moved to be a solo artist and release a banger hit “Ring” that captivated the hearts of his fans. It skyrocketed to over 2 Million views on YouTube solidifying him as a force to reckon with.
Speaking to Manucho Manucho on Radio 47’s show, “Baza47, he said that Mombasa artists are not united at all.
“Vijana wa Mombasa wana roho mbaya na ngumu kabisa na pia upuzi mwingi kichwani.”
Adding, “There is a time I requested Jovial who is also from Mombasa for a collabo to which she declined, I think the likes of Marioo have filled her with an air of pride and arrogance.”
He believes that his prowess is unmatched adding, “For me, when I see someone is full of pride, I leave them alone because there is nobody as dope as me in the entertainment industry.”
Kelechi went on to throw shade at Bahati and Willy Paul saying “Bahati is overhyped, nyimbo zote analilia haijulikani anaimba nyimbo za mapenzi au Gospel.

“Yeye ameenda tu mbali kimuziki kwa sababu ya support ya yule mama yake Diana. Willy Paul naye akiwacha utoto atakaa mahali pazuri.”he said.
He gave us a sneak peak of his love life and said love can’t heartbreak him, once he realizes he is in love with a woman, he disappears into thin air.
“Mapenzi haiwezi niumiza mimi, nikiona mwanamke anaanza kunizengua akili mimi naondoka zangu naenda.”

He claims to have married lots of women, ”Mimi ni kama Akuku Danger bana.“
“Na pia watu wasema nimekwekwa…ndio nimwekwa na mmoja wa Germany mwingine wa Italy.”
Naturally given that he is easily confused for a Tanzanian artist, he has done collaborations from both regions from Nyota Ndogo, Mr.Blue, Maua Sama, Arrow Bwoy etc.
Recently, Kelechi took the studio by storm, unveiling his latest creation, “Nakumenza.”
Asked what he has learnt in his 10 years in the music industry, he said, “I have learnt to be grateful and the thing I regret the most is believing in a woman.”
