Six people have been confirmed dead after suspected Al-Shabaab militia attacked a National Police Reservist Camp at Biyamadhow in Fafi, Garissa County.
According to the police report, four people were seriously injured during the attack on Sunday March 23, 2025 in the morning.
“It was reported through mobile phone initially by one Ahmed A.A, a resident of Biyamadhow that today at around 0530 Hrs suspected Al-Shabaab militia had attacked a National Police Reservist Camp located atBiyamadhow, about 24Km west of the station.
“The suspected militia used assorted weapons to overrun the camp,” police reported.
The injured were admitted to hospital as police launched investigations into the matter.
Multi-agency security operatives are investigating the terror attack with ATPU at the lead.
This comes a few days after the United States of America Embassy in Nairobi issued a new travel advisory warning to its citizens residing in Kenya.
In a statement on Tuesday March 18, 2025, the Embassy cautioned Americans from travelling to a number of areas within the country citing security risks such as crime, demonstrations, terrorism, banditry and kidnapping.
For instance, the Embassy urged American citizens to stay alert especially in hotspots of Eastleigh and Kibera within Nairobi due to crime and kidnapping.
The Embassy also warned against travelling near the Kenya-Somalia border counties which include Garissa, Wajir, Mandera, Tana River County and coastal areas north of Malindi due to risks of terrorism and kidnapping.
