Six people died on Monday, April 8 evening after a vehicle they were travelling in collided head-on with a lorry in Duka Moja area, Kericho County.
Confirming the incident, Rift Valley Traffic Commander Dorothy Muleke said that the driver of the private Toyota Probox was trying to overtake multiple vehicles along the Kericho-Nakuru Highway before colliding with an oncoming lorry.
The six people — who were on the Kericho-bound Probox — died on the spot while one person who sustained serious injuries was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Other people in the accident were rushed to various hospitals within Kericho.
