Size 8 opens up: leaving DJ Mo wasn’t easy, but necessary

Kenyan gospel singer and ordained pastor Size 8 has finally opened up about her recent separation from her husband, DJ Mo.

The mother of two shared that despite the end of their 11-year marriage, she still deeply loves DJ Mo and did not initiate the separation out of anger or hatred.

On August 1, 2024, Size 8 surprised her fans by announcing that she was now single, signalling the end of her long-standing marriage.

The announcement led to widespread speculation, with many questioning whether the breakup was genuine or simply a publicity stunt.

Given the couple’s history of overcoming challenges, some fans were unsure if this was truly the end of their union.

However, in a candid video posted on social media on August 17, Size 8 confirmed that she was the one who initiated the separation.

She explained that the decision was not an easy one, but it was something she felt she had no choice but to do.

“I am a believer in marriage. I love marriage… It’s not easy to leave someone you love. I don’t hate Mr. Muraya at all,” she expressed.

Size 8 further shared her deep feelings for DJ Mo, stating,

“On the contrary, I love him dearly. If you cut my heart open, you would find him there. But for me to reach a point where I requested a separation, it’s because I had no other option.”

Her words echoed the pain of a difficult but necessary decision, one that was made out of love rather than resentment.

In the wake of her announcement, Size 8 also offered words of wisdom to women facing pain and disappointment in their relationships.

She urged them not to blame God for the choices made in their partnerships, emphasizing that choosing a partner is an exercise of free will.

When things go wrong, she reminded them, that it’s not God’s fault, and instead of losing faith, they should seek His mercy and grace.

Size 8 and DJ Mo’s marriage has faced its fair share of trials over the years, including public scandals and periods of separation.

Despite these challenges, the couple managed to reconcile several times.

Through her transparency, Size 8 hoped to encourage others who may be going through similar struggles, reminding them that while love can be enduring, sometimes separation is the most loving choice one can make.
