Manchester United’s Sofyan Amrabat acknowledges the team’s mixed start to the season and believes hard work and patience are the keys to improvement.
The 27-year-old midfielder, on loan from Fiorentina, experienced highs like the comeback win against Brentford but also faced disappointments with home defeats against Crystal Palace and Galatasaray.
A defensive injury crisis forced him to play at left-back, rather than his usual midfield position in his first four appearances for the club.
Amrabat, who is nearing his 50th international cap with Morocco, remains positive and sees a long season ahead for the Red Devils.
“In football, it never goes always only good, or top. You always have a moment that maybe it will be a little bit difficult, and now I think it’s a bit like that at the moment,” he stated.
Despite the early challenges, Amrabat is confident in the team’s potential. He believes that with a bit more luck, they could have won the games they didn’t and that the hard work put in by the team will pay off.

“We work very hard every day. Nobody will give it to you. You have to work for it. But we work very hard, and I believe it will be fine. It will be good,” he added.
Amrabat, who has worked with manager Erik ten Hag previously at Utrecht, understands the Dutchman’s demands. He stressed that the team is making progress, and with time and patience, they will continue to improve.
“We put a lot of time and energy into that, and, like I said, there are a lot of good things. Of course, we are not perfect yet, but I think nobody’s perfect. It needs time,” he explained.
Amrabat believes that as the team starts getting results, their confidence will grow, and things will only get better.
Adding, “It was an easy decision to join Man United, I had no doubts at all. I knew for a long time that United were interested. For me, it was clear that the only place I wanted to play was here. I had to be very patient”.
