Defensive midfielder Sofyan Amrabat finally earned his spot in the Manchester United starting lineup after three months of waiting patiently on the sidelines, both in Italy and England.
Amrabat was a star performer as Manchester United coasted to a 3-0 win at home to Premier League rivals Crystal Palace in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
During the post-match interview, the Morocco international was brimming with excitement as his dream finally became a reality – on an evening he was tasked with a full-back role.
“This is what I dreamed of as a kid! Since I was a child, I worked for this. I worked very hard my whole career, my whole life for this. To play here is amazing, the stadium is full on Tuesday night… fantastic,” Amrabat said.
The 27-year-old openly expressed his love for the club saying he is ready to be deployed in any position on the pitch just to help the club – including in between the sticks.
The midfielder echoed the words his manager Erik ten Hag opining that United have no option but to win every game that comes their way, regardless of the opponent.
“I play where I can help them team, even in goal… I play for the badge. We just have to win all the games, as coach says,” he added.
It is clear that for Sofyan Amrabat, the thrill of playing for Manchester United was matched only by his unwavering commitment to the team’s success.

Amrabat made his move to Manchester United last summer in a season-long deal from Serie A outfit Fiorentina, where he had spent three seasons.
To secure his services, United agreed to pay a substantial 10 million euros as a loan fee, coupled with an option to make the deal a permanent one.
If exercised, this permanent transfer would come at a total cost of 20 million euros, with an additional 5 million euros in potential add-ons.
Amrabat, who was a standout performer at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar as Morocco clinched a respectable fourth-place finish has 49 international caps to his name.
