Sondu: Three killed, several injured in fresh clashes along Kisumu-Kericho border

News

Tension is high in Sondu area, Nyakach Sub-Country, along the Kisumu-Kericho border following fresh attacks.

Three people are feared dead and others injured following an early Wednesday, October 4 attack that was reportedly caused by cattle theft.

Confirming the incident, Upper Nyakach Assistant County Commissioner Darwin Orina says the victims have been taken to Nyabondo Mission Hospital for treatment.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that tension gripped the area when a man from Soin Sigowet Sub-County was killed for allegedly being involved in cattle theft.

The killing of the man is said to have irked Kericho youth who raided homes in Sondu, leading to the deaths.

South East Nyakach MCA Lumumba Owade is now blaming the police because they had reportedly alerted them of an impending attack but did not take action.
