Sonko offers advice to couples after viral video of man assaulting his wife

Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko is an angry man after witnessing the viral video of a man who assaulted his wife.

Sonko, who has been married for 26 years, stated that gone are the days when men battered their wives.

“Men at times some of us huwa na umbwakni sana kwani hamjui siku hizi mabibi hawapigwi. Nowadays naona a lot of cases za husbands and wives wakikosana juu ya vitu ndogo ndogo,” the former county boss asserted.

Sonko Advises Couples

He advised young couples who are planning to get married to choose their life partners wisely.

“Ndoa nikuvumiliana, hizi domestic issues hazitakangi hasira na mdomo. (Marriage is about persevering each other. Such domestic issues do not require violence),” Sonko added.

He praised his wife Primrose Mbuvi for bearing with him almost three decades into marriage.

“The secret for survival of any marriage or relationship, when your wife ako juu wewe kuwa chini and vice versa, mukiishi hivyo ndoa yenu italast for so many years.”

Identity Of Man In Viral Video Revealed

The man featured in the viral video has since been identified as Raymond Nduga and the lady he was assaulting as Dorris Tado.

Kenyans expressed mixed reactions to the video, with some calling for immediate arrest of Nduga.

“Nobody should beat a partner in this age and era. Watched that video of Raymond Nduga with emotions. Kenyans should boycott his business (if any), call for his arrest and prosecution. This is unwarranted,” Abuga Makori said.

“The problem with ladies is that they can do anything for marriage..I have seen this trending Raymond Nduga ….this lady loves the the lifestyle she has that why she is ready to be in that toxic…” another tweep Martin opined.

Nduga Claps Back At Critics

Nduga took to social media on Friday where he affirmed that his wife would not leave him despite the harsh treatment.

“So you guys think my wife can leave me just because you say so? … Mjue tu haweziniacha and your opinions don’t count,” he wrote.
