Azimio leader Raila Odinga’s wife Ida Odinga has reignited debate on expulsion of leaders from opposition for working with government.
Former Nairobi Governor Gideon Mbuvi alias Mike Sonko, joined in the banter, saying she should be expelled for meeting government officials.
Sonko posted a photo on social media featuring Ida Odinga and Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Roads and Transport Kipchumba Murkomen.
“She’ll be suspended …anytime! For working with Government!” Sonko joked.

Other leaders in attendance include; Migori county senator Eddie Oketch, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah and Kenya Airports Authority Board Chair Caleb Kositany.
In his remarks, Kositany reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to expand air travel in the country.
“With the guidance of our parent ministry, on aviation policy, security, and safety, KAA pledges diligent oversight for the success of national programs,” he added.
ODM expulsion order
Sonko’s teaser comes in the wake of expulsion of five MPs from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party over relationship with President William Ruto and his allies.
The expelled lawmakers are; Phelix Odiwuor ‘Jalang’o'(Lang’ata MP), Elisha Odhiambo (Gem), Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), Caroli Omondi (Suba South), and Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda.
On Tuesday, the ‘rebel’ MPs obtained temporary relief after the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal issued an interim order barring ODM from deregistering them.
Their case will be heard on September 21 for further directions.
