The Salary and Remunerations Commission (SRC) has advertised for application of the position of chairperson as current’s chair, Lyn Mengich’s term comes to an end.
In an official communication released on Monday, the selection panel stated qualifications as follows:
- Must be a degree holder from a recognised university in Kenya
- Should have 10-year experience in finance, public management and administration, human resource management, economics or labour laws
- Should understand labour market trends in Kenya relating to income in private and public sectors
- Should understand chapter six of the constitution
If one is a Member of Parliament or Member of County Assembly, if they belong to a political party, are bankrupt or have been removed from office previously for breaching the law then they are disqualified.
The applicants should attach a CV of not more than six pages, national ID or passport, copies of academic and professional certificates, HELB, EACC, DCI, KRA, CRB and CUE clearance certificates.
The roles of the incoming chairperson are to chair the commission’s meetings, help the commission in forming policies, ensure the commission meets its mandate as stated in Article 230 (4) and 239 of the constitution and maintain firm linkages with stakeholders and government sectors.
The application can be done manually by submitting the documents at the Ministry of Public Service at Harambee House or email soft copies to [email protected] before September 23, 2024 at 5:00pm.
The application must be labelled as “application for the position of chairperson, Salaries and Remunerations Commission”.
The chairperson position is a six-year term. The current chair Mengich got into office in 2018.
