Students of St. Paul University are this week showcasing their cultural diversity.

This is part of the University’s agenda to promote Kenya’s vibrant and diverse cultural landscape which is a part of everyday life.

The event that is being held at St. Paul’s University in Limuru, Kiambu County is a dynamic platform where creativity, learning and ideas converge to bring together thousands of participants from communities countrywide and beyond.

Speaking during wave 360 Africa cultural week at the university, deputy vice chancellor in charge of academic affairs Prof Abraham Waithima said by embedding lessons from these events into Kenya’s cultural pillars, the university is seizing an opportunity and crafting a uniquely Kenyan path to prosperity.

“As a university this is something that we put in our calendar to celebrate the various cultures that we have. As a christian university we have a unique culture, where we do everything by putting God first,” said Prof Waithima.

He added that as students pursue their various careers at the institution, there is a need for them to appreciate their cultural backgrounds.

“In terms of innovations we are doing well, recently our students won an award for showcasing an eco burner. Then another team of students creatively came up with sanitary pads made from banana fiber.

As a university we have students from various countries across Africa, Europe and other parts of the world and all of them will have a chance to celebrate their cultures,” he added.
