Police in the Kasarani area are investigating an incident in which a 33-year-old man was found in a room where a 19-year-old woman fell to her death.
Lawrence Gitonga, 33, was found in the same room with a stab wound on March 3, 2024, where 19-year-old Joan Mbula fell from.
According to the police report, it is not yet known if Joan committed suicide or if she was trying to escape after stabbing Gitonga before falling from the balcony.

Joan is said to have fallen from the tenth floor of an apartment on Saturday March 2, in Thome area of Kasarani, Nairobi.
The police report states that the room Joan had spent that night in was locked, and they were forced to call the owner of the room.
After opening the room, they found Lawrence lying on the floor unconscious.
Lawrence had bled profusely due to the stab wounds.

Police rushed him to the nearby hospital under tight security, where he is nursing eight stab wounds.
Gitonga later told police that Mbula stabbed him.
According to the neighbors, Joan was shouting for help on the balcony before she fell off.
Gitonga is in police custody as they await the postmortem to determine how Joan died.
According to the Police, the woman had met the man in one of the entertainment joints along Mirema Drive in Roysambu on Friday night.
The officers are still investigating the incident.
