Steph Curry scored 12 points in a row to help the Warriors defeat the Mavericks at Chase Centre in the Emirates NBA Cup.
Golden State Warriors welcomed Klay Thompson home as the Mavericks and Warriors face off in the Emirates NBA Cup 2024 opener in style.
Employees lined up with salutes for the four-time champion after 13 years with the Warriors. He signed with the Dallas Mavericks last summer.
However, it is still Steph Curry’s home, as the 36-year-old reminded us vividly why he is the greatest shooter of all time. In 35 minutes on the court, he scored 37 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists.
“We Knew there would be a lot of emotions as both teams wanted to win, but we made the right reads at the end to get the right match-ups…it was a masterclass,” Steph said after the win.
The reigning clutch player of the year scored 12 points late in the fourth as Klay Thompson and the Mavericks had no answer for the guard.
“It was fun to match up with Steph; we guarded each other a lot of times in practice… It hurts to be on the other side of one of his flurries. The guy got hot at the end and made some ridiculous shots. I’ve been on the other end, and it sucks,” said the former slash brother post-game.
Klay finished the game with 22 points, 12 rebounds, and three assists.
