Stevo Simple Boy: I once died and came back to life

Kenyan musician Stephen Otieno, popularly known as Stevo Simple Boy, claims he once died and came back to life in his childhood.

Speaking during a local interview, Stevo Simple Boy recalled falling sick to the point where his mother and medics delcared him dead.

Ok, jambo la kwanza mimi nikiwa mtoto mdogo nilikua nimegonjeka sana sana hadi nikafariki. Hadi nkafariki by the way. Kupitia neema zake Mungu akanirejeshea uhai tena.

(Okay, first of all when I was a child I fell ill and died. I died by the way. Through God’s grace I came back to life),” he narrated.

The musician was replying to a question on whether his upbringing affected his mental health.

Stevo Simple Boy stated that his poor background did not affect him mentally, but his ‘death and resurrection’ did.

Mama yangu mzazi alikua amenipeleka hospitali sasa akagive up wakasema ah ah huyu ameshaenda. So nkadungwa mashindano, nkapatiwa madawa hazikua zinafanya kazi. Yani ile kupitia uwepo wa Mungu nkarudi back.

(My biological mother had taken me to hospital but everyone gave saying I had already passed away. They administered multiple injections and medicines but none of them worked. It is only through the grace if God that I came back to life),” he added.

Although Simple Boy’s claims remain debatable, Science describes temporary death and resurrection as the Lazarus Syndrome.

“The Lazarus phenomenon is described as delayed return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) after cessation of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR),” National Center for Biotechnology Information says.

Stevo Simple Boy in December last year was reported to be suffering mentally after reportedly learning that his wife Grace Atieno was pregnant with another man’s child.

In a leaked audio clip, the musician was heard saying he was not the father of the unborn child. “We weren’t together after my dad’s funeral… She came back already pregnant,” he added.
