“Stop calling us Mungiki” – Kiambu youth slam Kenya Kwanza Gov’t

News

A section of youth Leaders from Kiambu County have slammed the Kenya kwanza Government over what they term as neglecting young professionals in the job market.

The youth, drawn from the group Uteti wa Kiambu (Kiambu Politics), say that President Ruto’s administration has forgotten them even after voting for it overwhelmingly in the 2022 Presidential Election.

The youth leaders have called upon Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to desist from branding some people as members of Mungiki sect, and instead focus on uniting all Mt Kenya residents and leaders.

Speaking during their annual get-together, the youth said that they too have potential and the right credentials to be considered in government appointments.

They also faulted the government for not delivering on its campaign promises, including the job opportunities for the youth. Instead, they are slamming the government for “branding Mt Kenya youth as Mungiki sect members.”

Led by the Chairman of Nairobi Business Community Richard Kamau, they called upon the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to desist from branding Maina Njenga as the Leader of Mungiki, urging him to apologise to youths of Mt. Kenya.
