Prime Cabinet Secretary (CS) Musalia Mudavadi has fired at former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for his incessant trolls against the Kenya Kwanza government.
Speaking during a roadside rally in Kakamega County on Monday January 20, 2025, Mudavadi urged Gachagua to tone down his fury against the State and instead focus on furthering his professional interests.
“If somebody was mourning then he has finished the mourning. The mourning period is over. Kenya must move on, it is not there to listen to you every other day. We must develop the country and that is where President Ruto is taking us,” Mudavadi noted.
Mudavadi further noted that Kenyans should embrace President Ruto’s development agenda and desist from endorsing divisive politics from individuals who stand no chance of holding elective positions.
“The law says that if you have been impeached you cannot have public office even a nyumba kumi (village elder),” he said.
Mudavadi, who is also the Foreign Affairs CS, urged Kenyans to scrutinize the law and use it as their sanity compass before pledging allegiance to politicians.
“Analyse the law because we do not want to be deceived by someone who cannot hold public office. Let us not waste our time, let us move forward.
“The former Nairobi governor (Mike Sonko) was impeached and he could not hold that office again. The one in Kiambu (Ferdinand Waititu) also got stuck after impeachment,” he explained.
Mudavadi was responding to Gachagua, who has been launching attacks on his former boss, President Ruto and his government since his impeachment last year.
