Sunny conditions expected this week in parts of the country- Met dept

Most parts of the country will experience sunny and dry conditions starting today (Tuesday) until next week, meteorological department says.

In their May 14 to May 20 weather forecast, Kenya Met noted that several parts of the country would experience sunny conditions.

Counties in the northern region such as Turkana, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Isiolo and those in the coastal region such as Tana River, Kilifi, Kwale will experience the dry conditions.

This comes amid displacement of over 500 families in the above regions due to floods menace. Kenya Red Cross in collaboration with collaboration is working to distribute relief food and other items to the displaced families.

Day time temperatures will also rise due to the sunny weather expected. Kenyans are warned to expected maximum temperatures going above 30 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, other areas will continue to receive rainfall, with dangerous levels of rain in some isolated places across the country.

According to the weekly forecast, Central Highlands, Western Kenya and Rift Valley regions will continue experiencing rainfall. Some areas within these regions might witness very high levels of rain.

Day time temperatures in these regions will range from between 17 degrees Celsius to 25 degrees Celsius.

During nighttime, Kenya Met says temperatures could go below 10 degrees Celsius particularly in parts of Central Highlands.
