Super Metro matatu involved in crash on Thika Superhighway

Supermetro is yet again on the spotlight after another one of their vehicles was involved in an accident along the Thika Superhighway on Saturday morning.

According to the police on scene , the PSV collided with a private car near the Jomoko area along the service lane of the superhighway. No casualties were reported in the near-fatal accident.

Videos circulating online show a large crowd gathered at the scene, with some individuals attempting to rescue those trapped inside the vehicles.

The impact of the collision forced the white private car into a ditch, highlighting the severity of the crash.

Fortunately, most of the passengers have been confirmed to have escaped unhurt, according to both police officers and eyewitnesses present at the scene.

The accident has led to a traffic snarl-up along the highway as rescue teams continue their operations. Authorities have urged motorists to exercise patience as efforts to clear the wreckage progress.

This incident comes just two weeks after another disturbing event involving a Supermetro, where a passenger was allegedly thrown out of a moving vehicle due to an inability to pay the full fare.

That incident led to the impounding of the vehicle, sparking public outrage and raising concerns over the safety and ethical conduct of Supermetro crew members.

With the rising number of such incidents, questions are being raised about the safety of passengers using Supermetro vehicles.

Many commuters are beginning to express fear over their security while traveling in these buses. If such accidents and reckless behavior continue, authorities may be forced to take strict action against the company to ensure passenger safety.

As investigations into this latest accident continue, there is growing pressure on relevant authorities to enforce stricter safety regulations and hold accountable those responsible for negligence.

Passengers, too, are calling for improved road safety measures and better conduct from public service vehicle operators to prevent further tragedies.
