Nigeria’s Redemption Quest in Group C

A major talking point for this round of qualifiers is Nigeria’s performance. The Super Eagles, who have managed only three points from a possible 12, will be desperate to turn their campaign around. They will face group leaders Rwanda on Friday at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali. This match will mark the beginning of a new era under newly appointed coach Eric Chelle.

Former Nigeria captain Joseph Yobo has expressed confidence in Chelle’s ability to restore Nigeria’s dominance in African football. “With a new coach in charge, players will be eager to prove their worth. It happens in clubs, and I expect the same here. He knows African football well, having coached Mali before, so we should give him full support,” Yobo stated.

Zimbabwe Banking on Experience

In the same group, Zimbabwe hosts Benin, and to boost their chances, they have recalled seasoned players Knowledge Musona and Khama Billiat. Billiat, grateful for the opportunity, assured fans of a strong performance: “We have a responsibility to represent our nation, and we are thankful for this chance.”

Meanwhile, South Africa, another key team in Group C, will battle Lesotho, aiming to strengthen their position in the standings.

Gambia vs. Kenya – A Must-Watch Clash

A thrilling encounter is expected in Group F as Gambia takes on Kenya in Abidjan on Thursday. This will be Kenya’s first match under the guidance of their new coach, Benni McCarthy. The Harambee Stars will be eager to make a statement and secure a crucial victory.

Egypt Eyes a Strong Performance Against Ethiopia

Egypt, one of Africa’s football powerhouses, will take on Ethiopia in Casablanca in a late Friday fixture. However, controversy surrounds their squad selection, with top scorer Emam Ashour missing from the team. Despite this, the Pharaohs will rely on Liverpool star Mohamed Salah to lead their attack and secure an essential victory.
