Murang’a Women Representative Betty Maina has been ranked top in a Kenya Trak survey for exemplary management of the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF).
NGAAF is a vital resource aimed at uplifting vulnerable groups such as women, youth, and persons with disabilities in the society.
The survey, released by Kenya Trak CEO Kelvin Irungu during a county report presentation, highlighted good governance of the fund.
Mombasa’s Zamzam Mohammed was ranked second, followed by Beatrice Kemei (Kericho), Pamela Njeru (Embu), and Elizabeth Kairemia (Meru).
While the Auditor General has raised concerns over the management and accountability of NGAAF in some regions, these Women Representatives were praised for ensuring the fund benefits their electorates, with impactful initiatives such as the distribution of sanitary towels playing a key role in empowering their communities.
The survey that was conducted across all sub-counties in the country saw 4,415 Kenyans take part in it between 3rd and 6th September 2024.
