Suspect arrested in Kitui after robbery on government stores

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives based at the Mutitu Police Station in Kitui County have arrested a 33-year-old man caught in possession of government attire.

In a statement on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 the DCI reported that Musyoka was being sought for the offence of threatening to kill and assault. He was arrested in his house at Itiko village.

A search was conducted at his home, where officers recovered clothing belonging to the Administration Police Service (APS) and the National Youth Service (NYS).

Among the items recovered were a senior APS officer’s sweater, a former maroon APS sweater, a green jungle sweater, three jungle belts, two pairs of APS trousers, three black berets, three jungle t-shirts, and four pairs of green socks.

An NYS green sweater and two NYS shirts were also recovered from the raid.

The suspect is currently still in custody and being processed as he awaits arraignment to be charged.
