Suspect injures three police officers before being eliminated in kasarani

Drama ensued as police shot and killed a suspect during a confrontation that led to the injury of three police officers attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.

The incident that occurred on Sunday evening in Nairobi’s Kasarani area, saw the police comer the individual who was believed to be apart of a group that escaped a shooting incident on September 14.

The three accomplices of the slain individual were killed and an AK-47 rifle was recovered in a police chase spanning two counties, Migori and Kisii.

The DCI officers are now receiving treatment in hospital for gun shot and stub wound inflicted on them by the suspect.

DCI boss Amin Mohammed had early in the morning gone to visit the three officers.

“The three officers who are responding well to treatment were on a mission to recover a firearm from a notorious thug in Kasarani, when they came under a hail of fire.”

Police said the suspect was using his wife and two young children as a human shield as he engaged the officers who had cornered him in his house.

“There were two rooms and he had barricaded himself in one of them with his children and wife as he fired at the officers injuring two as others took cover,”

The firearm in the suspects possession a ceska pistol was recovered.

“The trio however managed to recover the firearm a ceska pistol and fatally wounded the attacker. We wish the injured officers a speedy recovery.” Said the DCI

However an accomplice managed to escape during the commotion.

“We will not relent until we find the missing suspect. We are pursuing him,” DCI Amin said.
