Taita Taveta Governor Andrew Mwadime clinched the Governor of the Year award during this year’s e360 Awards.
Speaking during the gala event held at Nairobi Cinema on Saturday, March 2, Governor Mwadime took the opportunity to thank God “who has always been my strength.”
“I dedicate this award to Taita Taveta County residents and all development partners, I do not take your unwavering support in #MakingTaitaTavetaHappy for granted,” Governor Mwadime, popularly referred to as ‘Wakujaa’, said.
He added: “Let’s countinue deepening our collaboration to realize our aspirations and goals towards devolution.”
Meanwhile, Mwadime’s deputy governor, Christine Kilalo, also bagged the Best Deputy Governor award during the gala night.
Mwadime was the MP for Mwatate Constituency since 2013 with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party.
In 2022, however, he decided to vie for the county’s top seat as an independent candidate. He defeated the incumbent, Jubilee’s Granton Samboja, after garnering 49,901 votes.
