The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) detectives have apprehended a Tana River administrator in connection with selling relief food meant for residents.
According to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission(EACC), the official serving Ganze Sub-County identified as Teddy Buya Bonaye is accused of stealing and selling the humanitarian food assistance valued at Ksh550,200.
The anti graft agency has stated that the Bonaye will be arraigned on Thursday 1 February 2024.
This come a week after the EACC arrested 9 suspects including 6 officials of the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) over graft involving a Kes.62 Million tender.
Investigations established that the suspects executed a fraudulent scheme to embezzle public funds through a tender awarded to a company linked to them.
They will be charged with conflict of interest, fraudulent acquisition of public property and forgery of the documents used in the scam.

Also the Commission (EACC) on Tuesday, January 30 arrested and charged two police officers with the offence of bribery.
Police Constables Charles Ogola and Vincent Orwa were arrested for reportedly demanding a bribe so as to release a motorcycle they had impounded and detained at Kanduyi Police Patrol Base in Bungoma County claiming that it had been stolen.
