A primary school teacher killed his friend, a 65-year-old retired primary school teacher in Kianjege village in Ndia, Kirinyaga County, on Monday, December 4, 2023, and surrendered to the police.

Elijah Wanjohi, 47, is reported to have called his elder sister, Regina Njeri, to take him to Kianjege Police Post because he had killed his friend, and the body was lying in his compound.

“He recorded the statement, and together with the police officers, he took us to his compound where we found Mbuthia lying in a pool of blood,” the teacher’s sister, Njeri, is quoted by Citizen Digital.

Confirming the incident, Ndia sub-county police commander Moses Koskei revealed that the suspect used a fork hoe to eliminate his friend.

“We found him lying in a pool of blood at 11 am in the suspect’s compound with serious injuries all over his body,” the police boss said.

The suspect was taken to Baricho police station for integration as the retired teacher’s body was ferried to Karatina Hospital mortuary pending post-mortem examination.
