Morgan, Bahati’s adopted son, cried tears of joy during a heartfelt reunion with his two sisters, Rose and Purity.
The moment was particularly emotional as Kenyan musician Kevin Kioko, commonly known as Bahati, had previously attempted to adopt the girls from a children’s home but faced legal challenges.
In a video shared on Diana Bahati’s YouTube channel, Bahati recounted the deep bond he formed with Rose and Purity when they were all young.
He explained that despite his love for the girls, he was unable to legally adopt them due to his age and circumstances at the time.
“When I started fostering Morgan, I also took in Rose and Purity,” he said. “I was very young, just beginning my music career, and struggling to make ends meet. Unfortunately, I didn’t meet the criteria set by the government for adopting girls.”
He described the painful decision to return them to the children’s home, saying, “It was the hardest decision of my life. I wanted to help them, but I knew I couldn’t provide a stable environment for the girls. In my heart, I chose to stay with Morgan.”
Over the years, Bahati made sure to support Rose and Purity from a distance.
This reunion marked a significant milestone, as it was the first time they had all come together as a family again.
Bahati reflected on his journey, stating that his desire to adopt children stemmed from the success of his first hit song, “Mama.”
The experience inspired him to give back to the very children’s home that once sheltered him, highlighting his commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of children in need.
