Tekashi 6ix9ine arrested for violating supervised release

Tekashi 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, is back in court. The rapper was arrested on October 29, 2024 for allegedly violating the terms of his supervised release.

Two weeks ago, federal authorities issued a notice, informing him that he had breached multiple conditions where he was ordered to appear before a judge in New York to address these violations.

Tekashi was late to his hearing by an hour. This delay led the judge to send U.S. Marshals to locate him. However, Tekashi eventually arrived at the courthouse on his own and surrendered.

His lawyer, Lance Lazzaro, confirmed that he voluntarily showed up to face the judge as the government lists three specific violations.

First, Tekashi reportedly traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada, to perform without permission from his probation officer.

Probation requires him to get approval before any out-of-state trips, which he allegedly did not do. Second, Tekashi failed a drug test, which showed he tested positive for methamphetamine.

His probation also requires regular drug testing to ensure he remains sober. Lastly, he missed another scheduled drug test, which counts as an additional violation.

Lazzaro, Tekashi’s attorney, says the positive meth test could be a false positive. He claims that Tekashi is prescribed Adderall, a stimulant often used to treat ADHD.

Tekashi’s legal issues have drawn much public attention, especially after his previous high-profile federal case.

That case led to prison time, but he was later released under strict conditions. His supervised release terms are tight, with rules about travel, drug testing, and more.

The outcome depends on the judge’s decision. This case puts Tekashi’s future at risk again, as any violation of supervised release can have severe consequences.
