Ten-man Westham capitalizes on Chelsea’s mistakes to win 3-1 at home.

West Ham United claimed a thrilling London derby win against Chelsea despite playing almost 30 minutes with 10 men.

Goals at the start of each half prevented Chelsea from turning possession into points as the Blue’s first away trip of the season ended in defeat at West Ham United.

Nayef Aguerd nodded West Ham into a seventh-minute lead, however, Chelsea equalised through a brilliant Carney Chukwuemeka effort.

The second half was defined by another West Ham goal, this time Michail Antonio racing away on the counter to slot in following a ball over the top.

The Hammers were 2-1 ahead when defender Nayef Aguerd, who opened the scoring with a seventh-minute header, was sent off in the 67th minute for his second bookable offence.

Chelsea pushed hard for a second equalizer, with virtually all of the remaining game played in West Ham’s half, while Moises Caicedo and Mason Burstow both came on to make their debuts.

West Ham rubbed salt into the wound in injury time when the referee gave a penalty against Caicedo and Paqueta converted from the spot to make the final score 3-1, a harsh result for the Blues.
