A united Nigeria Airline flight landed in a different City nearly 200 miles from its intended destination on Sunday 26, November 2023.
The flight, NUA O504 operating from the Murtala Mohammed Airport was initially supposed to arrive in Abuja but instead landed at the Asaba International Airport.
This caused tension and confusion among the passengers who extended their frustrations to X (formerly Twitter).

“Nigeria my country. We departed Lagos about an hour ago on @Flyunitedng to Abuja, and upon arrival, the cabin crew confidently announced that we’ve arrived Abuja, Only for us to realize that we landed in Asaba. Apparently, our pilot was given the wrong flight plan from Lagos.” One of the passengers posted on his X page.
The Airline, however, posted a statement on their official account on X sending their apologies to the passengers on board for any inconveniences caused.

“A United Nigeria Airlines flight, NUA 0504, operating from MM2 in Lagos en route Abuja was temporarily diverted to the Asaba International Airport due to poor destination weather. At all material time, the pilot of the aircraft was aware of the temporary diversion and was properly briefed.” The statement reads.
“However, a wrong announcement was made by the cabin crew upon landing safely in Asaba, creating confusion among the passengers.
They revealed that the plane landed safely afterward, to the intended destination- Abuja following improvement in destination weather.
