A boda boda rider who transported Fred Omondi on the day of his fatal accident has recalled last moments with the comedian.
The boda boda rider claimed in a Facebook interview with Kenya Online Media that he was transporting him from the club to Tunnel.
“I took him to Tunnel, and he requested a Bolt. He said he was going far and wanted to go fast, but my bike was not going fast. I left him at Tunnel, and I even saw the amount of money he was paying that person was Ksh530 to his destination,” he said.
Fred was riding on a motorbike when it crashed head-on into the matatu, according to the police records.
The accident occurred at around 6:00 AM near the Caltex petrol station on Kangundo Road.
According to reports, a Mitsubishi minibus, driven by Stephen Maina from Kayole heading towards the CBD, collided head-on with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction on the wrong side of the road.
Fredrick Odhiambo Omondi, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, died instantly.
His closest friend 2mbili pondered how he rode a motorcycle that early in the morning and questioned the events that led to his death.
While visiting the hospital, his brother Eric sadly revealed that he believed Fred was still alive and blamed the authorities for deceiving him.
