‘The Wasp’ Review: Twisty psycho-thriller about two friends reunited under eerily circumstances

It’s an adaptation of the book of the play of the same name “The Wasp”, written by Morgan Lloyd Malcom.

The film is a twisty psychological thriller released in 2024. It stars Naomie Harris and Natalie Dormer as two estranged friends who rekindle their friendship over a cup of tea, only to unveil a more deceptive and thrilling plot that will irrevocably change their lives.

The Wasp is a gripping film that delves deeper into the complexities of friendship and the dark side of human nature and tries to explain in depth how far people are willing to go in order for their plans to work.

The plot revolves around two friends Heather and Carla, who after years of separation finally get to meet. Heather, trapped in a loveless marriage seeks the assistance of Carla, who on the other hand seems to struggle to make ends meet and yearns for a way out, to aid in the plan executed by Heather to revenge against her unfaithful husband.

It delves deeper into the psychological motivations behind Heather’s actions, highlights the destructive power of unchecked anger that builds up and leads to resentment and an urge for revenge and tends to explore further on the blurred lines between the victims and the perpetrator.
