Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko found himself engulfed in a whirlwind of emotions as he bid a heartfelt farewell to his daughter, Sandra Mbuvi, alias Thickyy Sandra, who is embarking on an exciting academic in Odyssey, London.
Sandra Mbuvi is set to embark on her educational journey at the University of Brighton International College, UK, and her father, Sonko, took to social media to express the mix of emotions that swirled within him on this momentous occasion.
Sonko shared his sentiments, revealing the bittersweet nature of the moment.
Despite the sadness from within, he couldn’t help but radiate pride in Sandra’s remarkable achievements and the ambitious path she has chosen to tread.
He addressed his beloved daughter with deep admiration: “Dear daughter, I want you to know how proud I am of the adventurous spirit within you.
“Watching you spread your wings and embark on this exciting journey to study abroad fills me with happiness for all the opportunities and experiences that await you.”
Sonko acknowledged that the family dynamics would undergo a significant shift during Sandra’s absence. His wife, Primrose Mbuvi, will accompany Sandra to the UK for four months to aid her in adjusting to her new environment.
Moreover, “The house will feel emptier without your laughter and that of your mum, who will also be away with you for four months as you adapt to the new environment and culture. Safe travels, and may your journey and new life be filled with success and happiness. I love you so much.”
Sandra herself shared a touching video capturing the touching moment at the airport, standing alongside her parents and her little brother, Satrine, whose tears flowed uncontrollably as they bid farewell.
