Three die as motorbike collides head-on with matatu in Mwingi

Three people have died after a motorbike they were riding collided head on with a matatu at Mbondoni area, few kilometers from Mwingi Town, Kitui County.

The three people — a rider and two pillion passengers — died on the spot after the head-on collision with the 46-seater matatu.

The accident occurred when the motorbike collided with the 46-seater matatu heading to Mwingi from Nairobi on Sunday, August 4 night.

All the three people who died were riding on the motorbike, in an accident that occurred on Saturday, August 4 night.

Confirming the incident, Mwingi Central OCPD Abdulkadir Malicha said the motorbike was coming from Mwingi Town at the time of accident.

The matatu was heading to Mwingi Town from Nairobi, when the accident occurred at Mbondoni area, just a few kilometres from the destination.

The bodies of have been removed to Mwingi Level 4 Hospital mortuary.
