A Rift-Valley Senator is among the suspects in an ongoing operation against gold scammers that has led to the arrest of three individuals in Nairobi’s opulent Runda estate.
The suspects, Fauzia Wanjiru alias Issa, Shallo Fatma alias Tett, and Jackson Ochieng were arrested at Momesa Vale house number 199 on Saturday, October 14, following an intelligence-led operation.
Detectives had earlier learned that a South African national was the target of the gold fraudsters connected to Trans-Nzoia Senator Allan Chesang, who intended to swindle him of a huge sum of money.
The victim had been told to go to Kilimani, where he was picked up and taken to Runda to complete the deal.
Detectives had set up an ambush near to Momesa Vale without the con artists’ knowledge, from which they struck and made the arrests.
