Police in Kericho have arrested three individuals who were allegedly posing as medical personnel and illegally operating within Kericho County Referral Hospital.
Kericho Deputy County Commander Robert Odongo confirmed the arrests, stating that the suspects were apprehended following a report made by Hospital Superintendent Charles Langat.
According to Langat, hospital staff grew suspicious of the individuals and alerted the authorities on Thursday at 10 a.m.

Upon investigation, police discovered that the three were not officially employed by the hospital and failed to provide any documentation proving their medical qualifications.
One of the suspects had already gained access to the operating theatre and was preparing for a medical procedure when security personnel intervened.
In a desperate attempt to escape, he dashed towards the hospital’s main gate but was swiftly intercepted by security guards.
The three suspects were immediately taken into custody and escorted to Kericho Police Station for further interrogation.
Odongo noted that the arrests come amid concerns over recent unexplained deaths at the hospital, which have now prompted a deeper investigation.
Authorities are working closely with the hospital management to determine whether the suspects were involved in any malpractice that may have contributed to these fatalities.
The incident has raised serious questions about hospital security and the verification processes for medical personnel.
Residents and patients have expressed shock at the revelation, with many calling for stricter measures to prevent such breaches in the future.
As investigations continue, authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities within medical facilities.
The suspects are expected to face charges related to impersonation and unlawful medical practice.
